Climate Change

Climate change adaptation action in South Australia has developed over a number of years, into an integrated statewide collaboration, that has evolved from the many needs and perspectives of local communities across the state.

The SA Climate Change Adaptation Program that is currently in place is underpinned by documents including the Climate Change and Greenhouse Emissions Reduction Act 2007, South Australia’s Greenhouse Strategy 2007-2020, and the LGA Climate Change Strategy 2008-12.

In 2013 the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility funded the development of a number of 'Climate Change Adaptation Good Practice - Case Study' reports.  The case study attached below identifies the various drivers for action, responses, implementation phases and key learnings from the SA experience.
