MEDIA RELEASE - COMMUNITY PLAN ADOPTED
THE FLINDERS RANGES COUNCIL COMMUNITY PLAN 2023 – 2033 RELEASED
The Flinders Ranges Council is pleased to announce formal adoption of its Community Plan 2023 - 2033, a comprehensive roadmap that defines the strategic direction of the Council in alignment with community aspirations.
Formally adopted at Council’s Ordinary Meeting on 19 December 2023, Mayor Ken Anderson stated “this new plan builds upon the successes of the previous Strategic Plan, focusing on community priorities and translating the collective vision into actionable strategies”.
“The development of this Community Plan involved an extensive and enhanced consultation process, with increased engagement with community members, organisations, and businesses. This inclusive approach has led to the incorporation of key initiatives that address the diverse needs of the community. These initiatives encompass economic development and housing, tourism, volunteering, health and well-being, farming and pastoralists, young people, and families.” Mayor Anderson added.
“The Council was thrilled with the community consultation process and thanks all residents, businesses and community organisation representatives that attended sessions. These collaborative sessions resulted in the refreshed focus of the Community Plan. As we embark on the journey outlined in the plan, we are committed to ongoing engagement, providing regular updates to the community on the progress of priorities and key initiatives.”
The Community Plan 2023 – 2033 rests on four pillars that form the foundation for a thriving and sustainable future and incorporates actions for each of the key initiatives as outlined above.
The Flinders Ranges Council is excited about the possibilities outlined in the Community Plan 2023 - 2033. With the community at the heart of every decision, the Council is confident that this plan will shape a brighter and more prosperous future for all residents.
