Thompson Park
Opened in October 1937 as a fitting memorial to Mr Robert Thompson, the Children's Friend.
A 4 time Mayor of Quorn over 27 years between 1894 -1928 Mr Thompson was always advocating for children's interests and education. He was instrumental in the establishment of Quorn's first Secondary School.
Mr Thompson was also a strong supporter of the Agricultural Bureau, the Institute and many local sporting bodies.
"Into every project for the welfare of the town, he put whole heart and spirit and his name would not easily be forgotten.
