Council Committees

The Flinders Ranges Council has various committees to help the organisation manage Council and community business. Some committees are statutory and required under legislation others are reference committees to help Council manage community expectations. All Council committees are established under Section 41 of the Local Government Act 1999.

The Flinders Ranges Council Audit & Risk Committee

Section 126 of the Local Government Act 1999 requires each Council to have an Audit & Risk Committee.

The Flinders Ranges Council Building Fire Safety Committee

Subsection 71(19) of the Development Act 1993 requires each Council to have a Building Fire Safety Committee.

Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre Management Committee

The Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre Management Committee is established as a Management Committee for the operation of the Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre at the Quorn Railway Station.

Policy Review Reference Committee

The Policy Review Reference Committeeis is established for the purpose of investigation of new policy, review of existing policy, and recommending to Council adoption of all required policies, ensuring that compliance with appropriate legislation and organisational needs are met.

Works Review Reference Committee

The Works Review Reference Committee is established to monitor and review, at a strategic level, Council’s works program, ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation, Council budget and community expectation and needs.

Quorn and District Local History Group Reference Committee

The Quorn and District Local History Group Reference Committee is established to assist the Council to identify and support the storage and display of historical documents and photos relating to Quorn and the surrounding areas.

Quorn Markets Reference Committee

The Quorn Markets Reference Committee is established  to assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the Quorn Markets s a viable community event.
