Making Enquiries

Completing Your Application

Your application should include the following:

  1. A covering letter stating why you are applying for the position, giving your address and details of how you may be contacted during normal business hours.
  2. Please ensure the position title is clearly marked on the front page of your application.
  3. A resume that provides your relevant personal details, qualifications and work history.
  4. You should include in your resume the names and contacts of at least two (2) professional referees. They must be capable of commenting directly on your work performance and should have worked with you in a supervisory capacity. You are encouraged to contact your referees and inform them that they may be contacted in relation to your job application for employment with The Flinders Ranges Council.

SEASONAL POOL SUPERVISORS
(Multiple Positions Available)

Council invites Applications / Expressions of Interest for the Seasonal (Fixed Term) Casual positions at the Quorn and Hawker Swimming Pools for the coming season (November 2024 through March 2025).

Conditions of employment for these positions will be in accordance with the Local Government Employees Award and The Flinders Ranges Council Enterprise Agreement No. 11 – 2022. The positions have been classified as Grade 4 Increment 1 with an hourly rate of $39.4197 inclusive of casual loading.

The pools operate on weekends, weekdays and public holidays throughout the swimming season, subject to weather and other conditions.

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, the minimum qualifications of:

  • Senior First Aid Certification;
  • Accredited lifesaving qualifications from Royal Life Saving Society or equivalent (minimum standard Bronze Medallion);
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR);
  • DHS Working with Children Check (the former DCSI Screening and Background Checks Certification for children & vulnerable people are valid until expiry); and

It is also desirable that applicants have:

  • Pool Plant Operator’s Certificate;
  • Experience in the operating of water filtration and chlorination equipment, associated with a public swimming pool; and
  • Experience in recreational facilities operations;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Mandatory Notification Certificate (Child Safe Environment course).

Council has scheduled Lifeguard Training (if required) on 16 & 17 November 2024.
