A second GP has been secured for the Quorn Medical Practice, ensuring continued health and wellbeing for the community.
The Flinders Ranges Council Mayor, Ken Anderson is thrilled that Country and Outback Health (CObH) have been able to secure a second new doctor for the Quorn Medical Practice with the medical professional seeing their first local patients on Monday 17 June 2024.
“Only recently announcing the securing of a doctor for the Quorn area was great, but now to have secured a second doctor is absolutely amazing. Again, I congratulate CObH who have fought so hard for the Quorn and surrounding communities to secure Doctors for the practice. This second Doctor really cements the certainty for the future of healthcare in the region.”

“We are so very lucky, considering that other areas are still fighting to attract one Doctor, so to have secured two for our area is just outstanding”, Mayor Anderson said.
CObH CEO, Zieco Sheldon said "Dr Luhaka Kanda is looking forward to joining the team and brings over 20 years experience with general and family medicine. Dr Kanda is dedicated to building trust with patients from diverse backgrounds, ages and circumstances and will work alongside Dr Mlawanda who commenced in April this year. He will arrive in Quorn in early June with his family and will soon settle into the community."
The Flinders Ranges Council will hold a community meet and greet for Dr Kanda on Wednesday 12 June from 1.00pm in the Quorn Arts Precinct and invites all community members along for an informal chat and sausage sizzle.
