COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM OPENING SOON
Applications will be opening soon for the next round of The Flinders Ranges Council Community Grants Program.
Mayor, Greg Flint says that since the program was introduced in 2018, many local groups, organisations and individuals have utilised the funding to support valuable projects and initiatives that benefit the community.
"The last round of Community Grants enabled some wonderful projects including the Quorn Golf Club who gained funding to upgrade the paving and disability access ramp at its clubrooms, which has greatly improved the visual appeal and safety of the area.”
“The Quorn Bowling Club utilised its grant funding to replace the 40-year-old carpet in its club rooms. This project, coupled with replacement of the ceiling, and lighting, which was made possible through another grant funding program, and painting throughout, has given the clubrooms a new lease of life.”
Also enabled through the last round of funding were upgrade works at Cradock Cemetery; various components of the very successful Drought Muster which was held in Hawker last October; playground improvements in Hawker; improved equipment storage at Quorn Men’s Shed; and First Aid, Fire Safety, and other equipment for the Quorn Pioneer Machinery Society.
“Council would like to congratulate everyone involved in these valuable projects and encourage any local groups, organisations or individuals who have community projects in need of funding, to consider applying under the next round of the Community Grants Program when it opens in the near future.”
Opening of the next Round will be announced on Council’s web page, in the Council Newsletter, and on Council and community social media pages.
