A carnival atmosphere will greet runners and walkers as they cross the finish line surrounded by local supporters, food vans, a grassed cool-down area, and a vibe befitting such an iconic road race. The Quorn Arts Precinct will provide the perfect backdrop for the final leg of the race, medal presentations on the stage and the famous Quorn Markets adding another layer of attraction.

The 43rd Mindfull Aus Pichi Richi Marathon will be held on Sunday 29 June 2025, with new start and finish lines designed to connect the event to the business and community heart of Quorn, providing entrants and spectators a better experience. The race will still start in Port Augusta near the Standpipe Golf Motor Inn, and is adjusted slightly to accommodate nearby development.

In an exciting first, Mayor Ken Anderson has announced that prize money will be awarded.  “$500 will be awarded to each of the male and female winners of the full marathon event. This initiative, made possible by the support of local businesses will reward elite performance and inspire greater participation in the full marathon.”

The option for people to register teams is back which is proving popular.  “We encourage people to participate and register as a team and support each other with their marathon journey. They don’t have to be in the same event and can create a team around any theme whether it be work, family or anything else.” Mayor Anderson said.

The Pichi Richi Marathon is organised by The Flinders Ranges Council who work closely with community groups to provide a welcoming and well-supported finish line.  Shops, cafes and hotels will be open! Logistical considerations such as post-race shower facilities and participant amenities have been carefully planned to ensure a rewarding and comfortable experience.

“The Pichi Richi Marathon is a major event on Council’s calendar. Each year up to 80% of participants travel from out of the area and state to attend, which brings a great economic benefit for the region.  We are dedicated to seeing the event continue to grow and look forward to seeing the positive impact of the changes for this year.” Mayor Anderson said.

Registrations close Sunday 20 June 2025.
